Fall Shearing Celebration & BY HAND Launch Party!
Here’s the skinny on the goings-on for Fall Shearing Day, October 13, 2012:
- Gates open at 2 p.m. and the party don’t stop ’til we hit 8 o’clock!
- We’re having the party rain or shine!
- The address of the farm is 1036 Venable Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963. GPS’s will know the address only if their maps are up to date. If your GPS is older, please make sure to check out the above link for directions from Google Maps.
- This year, we are providing dinner rather than having a potluck. We’ll be roasting a pig from local Red Row Farm.
- More information will be posted here as it develops.
If you are looking for accommodations near the farm, there is a new Best Western hotel that’s about 15 minutes away. The hotel books up fast on Shearing Day Weekend, so please make your reservation early!

I will be joining your for the Spring shear and am sooooo excited!
I will be joining you this year with my husband and 10 month old son! So excited! We’ll be staying at the Best Western too for Friday and Saturday night.

What is the date for fall shearing?
Can’t wait! I have my hotel reservation made and am bringing a good friend of mine. She’s not a fiber addict but I know she’s going to love being there as much as I do!

It’s no wonder the hotel fills up fast if you always hold the shearing the same weekend as UVa’s graduation. I was hoping to come, but will have to work.
