Puppies First Day Out

by Susan on June 5, 2012

We took Lucy’s puppies out on an exploration this morning. At four weeks old, they may have reached their peak of cuteness.

Me and Gnocchi

A couple of you have asked if we’re naming all the puppies. We’re not because we want their new owners to have that privilege. Amy is taking one of the pups for her farm. They have named him Orzo.

I may be biased, but I think Gnocchi is the cutest. The rest of these are all of him:

Too cute! I was just checking back on the Mac & Cheese recipe and found all the sweetness!

2 Erin L June 5, 2012 at 4:53 pm

Oh my goodness! They are getting enormous! So sweet. I can’t get enough of those pups.

3 Lyn (coppertoptoo) June 5, 2012 at 5:18 pm

Oh my goodness….I’m dying of cute overload!!! Gnocchi is just precious! Will he be staying with you then?

4 Kay June 5, 2012 at 5:18 pm

Oh my gosh! Your lamb pictures already had me yearning for a flock. Now I am wishing even more so that I had one, so I would be deserving of a sheep-dog-to-be puppy. They probably wouldn’t be very happy herding three cats around my house. ;p

What an adorable bunch!!

Polar bear cubs!!

6 Sebette June 5, 2012 at 5:42 pm

oh my!

7 Carole Pivarnik June 5, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Oh my gosh! They are all soooo cute–and so big for four weeks! I’m used to terriers who are the size of Coke cans at that age!

Please please PLEASE consider submitting that fourth (or alternatively, fifth) picture from the bottom for my book project, Doggitude! It would be awesome to include the Maremma breed and even more awesome for it to be your adorable Gnocchi–I guarantee you I will be painting the little guy’s portrait before the end of next week if you submit it!

Oh my… so much cuteness is beyond words.

Oh my god, I am just dying from cuteness. Between the adorable puppies and the absolutely perfect photos OF the adorable puppies … *thud*

10 Amy June 5, 2012 at 6:59 pm

Gah! Too stinkin cute!!!!!

11 Roni June 5, 2012 at 7:12 pm

I was just thinking, since Gnocchi is the smallest of the litter, shouldn’t he have been Couscous?

12 Susan June 5, 2012 at 7:15 pm

HA! Actually, we didn’t plan to name them all after pasta, Roni. It just sort of worked out that way. I suspect that the other farms will go with a different naming convention but I wanted to name one puppy after his father, Fettucini, and it just sort of spiraled from there.

So adorable! How much do they weigh at this point? (Cuz I bet they weigh more every day!) I have a 5 pound dog – 14 mos. old. They look to be about the same size. But my guy is fluffy, so they may weigh more.

14 M.M.Moffet June 5, 2012 at 7:16 pm

No, there is no peak of cuteness. I had a Maremma as a companion for 14 years, and he was just as cute as an old dog as he was as a wee puppy. Thanks for the great pics.

15 Herbi June 5, 2012 at 7:31 pm

What a job perk!

16 Sarah June 5, 2012 at 7:46 pm

Adorable! They look like little polar bear cubs!

17 Seanna Lea June 5, 2012 at 7:47 pm

If I beg, can I have one? I love my dog (he’s a scruffy looking nerf herder) very much, but he is not nearly as cute as any one of these!

18 Brenda McCoy June 5, 2012 at 8:01 pm

Oh my! Such happy little souls with a whole world to explore! I agree that Gnocchi is a stunning specimen while retaining his youthful innocence…and he’s so doggone cute! B

19 Anna June 5, 2012 at 9:36 pm

I think Gnocchi needs to stay. ;)

I can’t believe they are only 4 weeks old. And a couple of them seem SO much bigger then their siblings….

20 bj June 5, 2012 at 9:52 pm

OMG that was PUPPY OVERLOAD!!!! Soooooo cute I would never be able to a) pick one or b) be able to get rid of any! Lil fat polar bears :)

21 JellenP June 5, 2012 at 10:32 pm

I think you need to start wearing Gnocchi in your hair – you know, like a white, fluffy fascinator. As he grows – around the neck, like a boa. Think how much fun you’d have EVERY day!!

22 Denise Mor June 6, 2012 at 12:42 am

4 weeks is pretty darn cute, but I think they’ll peak at more like 8-10. They’re still gaining in adorableness every day!

23 Alexis June 6, 2012 at 6:29 am

Cute overload! Perfect pick me up before work. :)

I love all the different puppy expressions they have, especially Gnoicci.

24 jamie June 6, 2012 at 6:34 am

They redefine “cute” of all cute.

25 Annie June 6, 2012 at 9:57 am

WAY to cute – what camera to do you have?

26 Kelly Lauta June 6, 2012 at 10:06 am

Those pictures made my day! Those puppies are so incredibly adorable!!!!!! And Gnocchi is soooo fluffy!! I wouldn’t get anything done, I’d want to play with puppies all day!! Looks like everyone got in on the fun!

27 Christina Del Villar June 6, 2012 at 11:43 am

That is too cute. Made my day (and my co-workers).

My border collie pups will be two on July 4 (just like my granddaughter) I’m having such a bad case of puppy yearnings that my hub made me leave the computer for a while. The baby yearnings are being taken care of. Tesla’s parents are having their next baby in December.
