What I’ve seen of Zurich so far…

by Susan on February 5, 2012

So far, my sister and I have spent Friday shopping and Saturday doing absolutely nothing. Well, that’s not entirely true; yesterday, Carrie got me all caught up on Coronation Street and Emmerdale, which are kind of like soap operas except they’re on in the evening and they move much faster.

Part of the reason we stayed in all day yesterday is that it is freezing here! I mean, even by Zurich standards. But even if it wasn’t, I would have been perfectly contented to stay in. Carrie’s apartment is cozy and I still haven’t reset my internal clock to the local time. (Zurich is 6 hours ahead of Virginia.)

We’ve been cooking at home and here’s what we’ve made so far:

Spaghetti with Garlic and Chili oil

Polenta with a Mushroom Ragu

Roasted Pumpkin and Pear Salad with a Maple Balsamic Dressing

Today, Sunday, we are going to venture out in to the frozen city and take a long walk. I’m hoping to wear myself out so I can sleep tonight. I’ll take my camera along and post some pics later. Hope you’re having a lovely, restful Sunday.

Jealous on so many levels – Corrie, Emmerdale, Zurich, the food, shall I go on? Seriously, enjoy your R&R! Please take loads of pictures and please post ALL of them! ;D

Too early for food porn this tempting… that ragu in particular is calling my name.

Enjoy the vacation! May your wool keep you warm!

Sounds wonderful. That salad looks delicious! Stay warm and have fun and relax loads more.

I’m sitting on the deck on the 27th floor of our hotel overlooking the port where there are 6 cruise ships waiting to be boarded today! So far I’m having a blast… :)

I’m very rarely envious of another person and what they have that I don’t…but I sure do wish I had a sister! :)

That spaghetti looks AMAZING!! I am a huge fan of garlic & butter or garlic & oil sauces. I hope you are having a lovely, restful vacation, and am looking forward to your photos!
