As promised, today I am revealing the first of our Spring/Summer 2012 yarns and patterns.
The first yarn I want to share with you is Yearling. Yearling is a 60/40 blend of Merino wool and cotton in a chunky weight. It’s great for quick knitting project and it feels wonderful to knit with.
I was lucky enough to commission Pam Wynne to design this collection and she was an absolute joy to work with. I love every pattern in the collection and I think you will too. Here’s what you’ll find in the Yearling pattern book, coming to a local yarn store near you very soon.
Marcie- knit by Beatrix Haggard, modeled by Neve
Cabled Caplet- knit by Elizabeth Hutchinson, modeled by the designer
Sleepyhead- knit by Sarah McCusker, modeled by Genevieve
Charlie Pullover- knit by Kim Reid, modeled by Oona
Lamb Shoes- knitters Margaux Hufnagel and Anna Pohl, models Anna Howell and Charlotte Fryar
Downey, the soft lamb toy- knitter Deb Palmer
Model Oona
Yearling cardigan- knitter Jane Hurst, model Anna Howell
Origami blanket- knitter Caroline Fryar, models Neve, Sierra and Oona
Lucy Tunis- knitter Laurie Barham, model Amy
Robin Cardigan, Puff Hat and Chunky Booties- knitter Mary Johnstone, model Genevieve
This project was the work of so many people and all of them deserve recognition for their efforts. We could not have done this without our amazing knitters, listed above with the garment they made. They absolutely came through for us!
I also want to thank all our models, who are getting kind of used to being bossed around and wearing clothes that are completely inappropriate for the season. Neve didn’t even complain when we sprayed her with a water hose!
The gorgeous photography is the work of Joel Eagle, the most patient man I’ve ever met.
Zac kept us fed and held reflectors whenever we asked without complaining. Suzy flew in from Oklahoma to help with styling and child-wrangeling (and to make us Kip’s Tacos one night!). And Lauria- dear Lord what would we have done without Lauria? The woman is a wonder.
If your local yarn store isn’t currently carrying the JMF lines and you’d like to knit these patterns, ask them to bring it in. We’re currently in more than 100 stores and the list is growing like crazy.
Tomorrow I will be introducing you to a yarn named after one of the JMF farm dogs.

Gorgeous! And I’m so glad one of my dearest friends is having a baby so I can knit some of those fantastic baby patterns. The Cardi with the ears to just too cute.
If you want to find these patterns on Ravelry so that you can Queue them (because I know I want to!), you can find them here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/juniper-moon-farm-yearling-booklet
All those baby patterns are adorable! I love Yearling! And Charlie Pullover! And what adorable models those kids all were! (All the other models were attractive too, but wow, such cute kids!)
Love it all. Thanks for sharing.
Want, want, want… Love, love, love… Too bad the baby coming into my family is due the end of March… in Atlanta… to a mother who doesn’t seem to appreciate hand knit… Or doesn’t want to mess with the laundering. Susan, is this yarn machine washable? Maybe that would help!!
I got to play with this yarn at the TNNA show on Monday and it is heavenly! Trying to decide what I would make with it.
I can’t wait for these beautiful yarns to arrive in my fiber arts shop in New Hampshire. I want a pair of those lamb shoes! LOVE ‘em!
Could Amy and the girls possibly get any more adorable??
Ok I am going to need the yarn and pattern to make the lamb outfit and slippers STAT!!!!!
Those sheep patterns are wonderful!
Thanks for the shout out! I am honored to be in such a company of designers, knitters, and models. And the colors are gorgeous! Wow, wow, wow.
I wish the Charlie Pullover came in MY size! Wonderful!
…the Yearling cardigan. The ears. The ears…oh, dead of the cute here. It’s almost enough to make me want another baby…
The yarn looks gorgeous, and the patterns make me wish I knew more babies (or babies to be). You guys are doing such a great job. It’s inspiring!
oh.my. Must practice my knitting and get good enough to deserve to try to make some of these lamb shoes!!!!!!! wonderful.
I am basking in the glow of all the enchanting gorgeousness… and Duck Feet! I wish I had Duck Feet!
I could stay busy with these exact patterns for weeks! Right up my alley for pattern choices. Man, I’m glad I found you!
Ohhh, that yearling cardigan is so adorable. And the slippers! And the stuffed lamb! Excellent work.
Everything is gorgeous but I can’t focus on anything but the lamb shoes. I mean, baby feet are sweet all by themselves…but baby feet dressed as lambs !!! OMG, cuteness overload to be sure.
Wow, that is lovely! And could those kids be any cuter!?!?!?
oh that cabled capelet is to die for! Perhaps a good starter project for knitting cable (which I have yet to master)!
Absolutely beautiful! Love the pictures and am excited to get my hands on the patterns (and maybe even the yarn).
Adorable…I want to knit all of them!
gotta have the yearling cardigan pattern to knit for my twin granddaughters…will 3 skeins (they are 10-12 pounds each) per sweater be enough! I am ordering the yarn NOW
Sleepyhead is SO fantastic!!! YAY PAM!!!
