A Pre-Holiday Gift Just for You

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, y’all!  Otherwise known as the last sane day till January 2. At the farm we are crazy-busy, pre-paring for tomorrow’s feast, our Spring/Summer photo shoot  in a couple of weeks, selecting yarns for Fall 2012 and organizing the dyeing and shipping of the 2011 shares.

So much hustle. So much bustle. So very much to do. In other words, the holidays!

I’m hoping that your holiday season isn’t half so nuts as ours and that you still have time to get some holiday knitting done. And in that spirit, we’re starting the gift giving a scooch early this year.

We hope you will enjoy the knitting The Sluggy Bonnet as much as we love giving it to you.

This is one of my very favorite patterns from our Fall/Winter books and it’s a joy to knit. As I mentioned in a previous post, the fun thing about this hat pattern is that, by reversing the colors, you can knit THREE hats with only three balls of Chadwick.

Chadwick is so special, so soft and so lofty that you may never want to knit with anything else. 60% Merino Wool/40% Baby Alpaca. You can find it at lots of local yarn shops, and online if you don’t live near one of our stockist.

I would LOVE to see your Sluggy Bonnets! Send me pics as you finish them and I’ll post them here on the blog.

To get your free copy of this awesome pattern, just click the link below. You are welcome to share the link with your friends but we do ask that you send them to the blog to print a copy of their own. Printing working copies is a-ok!

  1. Thanks, Susie! I love that pattern . . . and it looks super easy! Happy Thanksgiving to you!!

  2. Ooh… thank you for sharing the lovely pattern. Also – does this mean we will soon hear about our choices for colors for our share? Just want to make sure I didn’t miss some important information! Thanks!

  3. Woohoo! I’ve got 3 balls of Chadwick waiting for me at home. Can’t wait to make this!

Thank you. This is perfect. My niece has been asking me to make her something similar and I couldn’t find just the right pattern. Off to go buy some lovely Chadwick yarn (that yarn is amazing!)

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  5. Thanks for the free pattern! I love this hat. My LYS is on your list in California, so I’m hoping I’m only 10 minutes away from the yarn!

  6. Why “sluggy?” Or did you already explain that somewhere. Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!

  7. OK, you’ve convinced me, I should learn to read a pattern, and make something really useful. I love the sluggy bonnet. I’ll be using just one color though. Two if I’m feeling really brave and just make it striped(?). Hmmm, maybe also a pair of striped mittens to go with that hat? Oops, oh shucks, I guess I’ll have to buy your book…

  8. What a generous gift. Thank you, Susie. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  9. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely pattern. I wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving
