Boy, oh boy, do we have an announcement for you.
Do you guys remember the day that Susan, Amy, Erin and I caught cuteness and died because of the debilitatingly adorable miniature donkeys we visited at Tulip Hill Farm?
Like this one:

And this one:

Oh yeah, and this one:

The owners of Tulip Hill Farm are the kind, very generous and hilarious Mike and Carole Pivarnik, and we kind of totally love them. I mean, who could not have a massive farmcrush on two people who raise minidonks (as we call them) and have a
hedgehog named Sid Vicious?
Mike and Carole heard about the barn fire at Pete’s Greens and our
fundraiser giveaway that we’re all doing to help and decided they wanted to participate as well, and what they are donating to the cause just about blew my socks off. It’s such a special donation, in fact, that it warrented its own blog post, because we’re going to do this one a little differently.
Tulip Hill Farm is donating A MINIATURE DONKEY! One of this year’s adorable foals, a jenny named Cleome, Cleo for short. Well, doesn’t that just frost your cupcakes?
Cleo’s initial asking price was $900. This year Mike and Carole had an abundance of foals, so they were able to lower their prices (if you’re in the market and don’t win this giveaway, please go check them out, because their prices are beyond excellent anyway, and crazy good this year in particular!) and this is what allowed them to donate one of their precious and very loved minidonks for this very worthy cause.
Because Cleo is an actual livestock animal, however, we can’t just include her in the normal giveaway for Pete’s Greens. There are some definite requirements that you will need to fill if you want her. As always, you do not need to donate any money to be entered, though you do need to meet the requirements. Having said that, this really is for a very good cause, you would be getting her for a STEAL, so we encourage you to please donate what you can to Pete’s Greens when you enter this special giveaway. As a suggestion, we are including the $50 button below, though you can visit the
original blog post if you would like to donate more or less, and you can email me at jenny at fiberfarm dot com if you can’t donate but would like to enter. It will take money to care for little Miss Cleo, though, so please make sure you have the financial resources to care for her properly.
All entrants must meet the following requirements:
1. You must have an equine, caprine, hircine or ovine of some sort to satisfy Cleo’s herding instinct and provide companionship. Donkeys are extraordinarily social and lovable creatures, and they need a “family,” so to speak.
2. You must have at least five acres.
3. You must already be animal-wise. Mike and Carole won’t let Cleo go to someone who is inexperienced in animal-husbandry and unfamiliar with the costs and needs of animals.
Please keep in mind that Tulip Hill Farm is in Virginia, and the winner will be responsible for transporting Cleo to her new home.
We realize this limits prospective owners, but it is the right thing to do. As such, we recognize that it might be the case that no one will qualify, and Cleo will remain where she is. I’m sure, however, that there are some farms out there reading this who would be completely able and willing to provide Cleo with the great life she deserves. If so, please enter (and please donate!)
Be sure to email me at jenny at fiberfarm dot com if you do want to enter, and let me know a little about your farm.
Thank you, Tulip Hill Farm!

Sorry about that! Comments and Amazon button are fixed.
Cupcake frosted! My family would LOVE LOVE LOVE to give Cleo a home! I just donated, and am happy to do so for a great cause. Thanks for the chance to win such a sweetheart!
Donation is going to have to be next week….but we would love to add Cleo to our family farm (20 acres) of alpacas, llamas, mule, pony not the people….hopeful (fingers crossed) real soon sheep also
No worries, Margaret. Donate when you can.
I just decided that when I have my midlife crisit in 4 years, I will sell everything and buy a farm. I must have sheep. I must have goats. And I must-must have a minidonk!!! Cuteness overload indeed.
Oh my god THE CUTENESS! (Seriously, someone write a children’s book about her, STAT!)
You are so cruel to us landless proletariat!!!!
(Falls to ground, sobbing uncontrollably)
Minidonks are AWESOME! There are some down the street from me that are liver and white spotted. I want to slip one in my pocket as I drive by–they are so cute.
An awesome prize for the right home…. Ante up, everybody!!
Wow! What a great prize. And what reasonable requirements for the potential winner. So sad that I am out of the running for this one.
HOLY GUACAMOLE! MINI-DONK! I just want to put them all in my pocket! That’s the best donation EVER.
WOW!
Hey, I would love to win but I totally realize that a donkey, even if it’s a mini can’t live in my bathroom…..doesn’t mean I don’t think she’s cute as all get out, a woman can dream right?
How generous!! But perhaps they can donate a picture of a minidonk for those of us who live in the city and wouldn’t be able to house a live one in an apartment?
Best prize ever, and we meet all the qualifications. Do you have to do something special to be entered in her giveaway list, or is the donation through the main page all that is needed?
Never mind! Just saw the final line!

Susan,
Maybe Joel can do a beautiful picture as a give away for all of those people who don’t have the pasture for this beautiful animal. Just to add to the fund!
Can we win Cleo and have her live at Juniper Moon?
Just want to point out to other folks who may visit from Vermont based links or word of mouth that the donkey appears to be in Virginia, not Vermont! I might be slow on the uptake but it took me a little bit to figure this out!
Absolutely! I will happily give her a home and you can visit her anytime. XO
Lora! Good point!
What a lovely thing for Mike and Carole to do! I hope Cleo will be very happy in her new home.
Oops, tried to comment earlier but it didn’t work. I would love to enter but I won’t have my 5 acres and companion animals till summer. But oh man is Cleo a cutie!
Laura, you can totally keep Cleo at my farm until you get your own.
What a wonderful thing Tulip Hill Farm is doing. I would love to put my name in the hat. I have 20 acres-6 cashmere goats, 6 registered shetland sheep with lambs expected in the Spring. I am hands on with my animals (along with my husband)-doing all the worming, hoof trimming, shots and even shearing. We would love to welcome a mini donkey!
