I have this envelope making template and I adore it. I keep an eye out for interesting paper- used books, old maps, color copies of photos- and people are always excited to receive them in the mail.
This knitted calendar is designed to be unraveled as the year progresses.
I am obsessed with these yarn-wrapped twigs.
And this painted version. (via re-nest)
And, on a much larger scale, these knock me out!

Has anyone in the NYC area been to Moomah? Such a great idea! A crafts cafe for little ones.

I know I’ve blogged about Sharon Montrose’s animal photography before but I had to share this baby porcupine.

I’ve written about how much I love Dash & Albert blankets; their rugs are just as wonderful.
I wrote about Magpie’s Cakes a few weeks ago and got a very sweet thank you note from owner Maggie LaBaugh. Since then, Magpie’s Cake has blown up and been featured on just about every important, taste-making blog there is! I love it when great things happen to nice, talented people.
This video delighted me. (via my delightful friend Rona Thau)

I’ve been on an envelope making spree since I learned to steam open and trace onto quilting template plastic to make my own template. The library has a shelf of free books where folks leave things they don’t want. Kids books make the most fantastic envies. I use an address label if I don’t have a white area in the center.

Kim got the EIO at her baby shower today I think (she opened presents for almost 2 hours!). I was endlessly fascinated with all of the green baby items she got.
Did anybody read about the great goat rescue in the news this week? Apparently two goats got stuck on a very high bridge in Montana and had to be rescued with a large piece of mining equipment!
Read about it here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129612209

That knitted calendar is sooooo clever!!!! Now why didn’t I think of that? :-/ Just moved Patterson (PrettyStuff) and all of her pretty stuff into her first apartment for her senior year!
