You wouldn’t believe what a difficult time I’ve had naming this piglet.
My friend Julie came up with a list of awesome names, but none of them seemed quite right for him.
Jenny, my friend who’s visiting from Boston this week, came up with at least a dozen great names, too.
Jasper. Johnny Cash. Jefferson. Orion. Jackson. Ted. All wonderful names. All rejected.
There was only one name that felt right from beginning but I kept fighting it for some reason.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Charley.
Short for Charleston.
He is the sweetest baby in the world.
A total snuggle bug.
I can’t believe how much I love him already.

Ohhhh the cuteness!!!! :0)
Ooohhhhhh Charley, you are beyond adorable.
That’s some pig!
Oh my…you tried to tell me how small he is – SO TINY!!! I cannot wait to meet Charley.
Charley, you are perfect!
Charley is quite the little gentleman. He is very cute.
Perfect!!! And Oh my but I do need my own piglet now.
What’s not to love? He seems simply darling.
Such a dear little fellow. For some reason he reminds me of Fiona, our one year old border collie, who came to us as a puppy this time last year. There’s nothing like those lively eyes looking right at you!
Perfect name and perfect little pig lips! He is going to be one spoiled rotten cutie!

Is Charley going to be a house pig? Our mini girl Lola lives outside, but she still is part of the family – a part of the family that drives us crazy with her troublemaking, lol. Never underestimate how smart a pig is – they put dogs to shame!
I love how the pink on his nose looks like a footprint. Charley is so damn cute. Does he have run of the house?
Charley!
Why do I have a sudden urge to re-read Charlottes Web ?
Seriously, just about died from the piggy cuteness! Can’t wait to meet little Charley!
Oh. My. God. Baby animals are the cutest things but he’s just adorable.
Ok, now I want a pig…
What a perfect name. I am very glad you are so happy with him. He was the bravest of the 4 boys…always at my feet, asking where his milk shake was. These pictures, and your comments, made me tear up. It’s always a great day when an animal finds a wonderful home. I’m praying the rest are so lucky! How are my feathered friends? The female, loud Miss Piggy, has finally warmed up to us, and is now enjoying belly rubs and lap time. We will start trying to pick her up next week…when our ears heal!
Take care, and thank you so much for giving him a great home. – Caroline
I love his “lips”, I think I would have named him Kisses. So I will always think of Charlie Kisses as his name… He is precious. Hey, did you ever find your Iphone?
Where will he live? How old is he? Does he dig with his nose-bone yet?
oh my… totally and completely LOVE beyond words!!
OH! Charley has Sugar Lips!
Perfect! I’m sending this blog to my cousin, Dan, who had a pig named Sadie–it’s his birthday todya. Charley is adorable!! Can’t wait to meet him.
I’m prejudiced but I think it is a great name. My older son is Charlie. We got TWO new puppies and had a hard time naming them. Then a friend had the nerve to suggest we should have gotten THREE pups so we could name one Turner. To go with Ike and Tina!
I love Charley’s nose. Ike has extra pink on his nose too.
Simply Adorable!
Oh, Lordy, such cuteness is unbearable. Oh, Charley, you are some LUCKY pig.
Okay, so when you said that you were going to be getting another critter, for some reason I wondered if you were going to be adding a sheep herding dog to the farm. But then you went and got a pig with markings like a border collie! So I have to share this wonderful photo from a border collie trainer I know, taken by his amazing photographer wife–I know you will love it!

Yup! Still as cute as yesterday – maybe cuter.
Can’t wait to meet you Charley.
I love him! How big will he get?
I love the name and he is so cute!
He looks so smart and engaged. He looks like he will be a handful! Congrats!
PS–How does he get along with Lucy?
Oh is this cuuuuuute… I really want to be on your farm right now
).
I love those hairs on his chinny-chin-chin. And the kissy-spot on top of his head.
Well darnit! You’ve gone and made me want a pig and name it Huckleberry.
The pink on his wittle snout made me think of the name Pucker, for puckering up for a smooch! But I love the name Charley!
Charley is too cute for words – just want to squeeze him!!!
ok, so I haven’t been around for a few weeks (lots going on) and I totally missed the introduction of Charley. OMG I am so jealous.
