I want them ALL! We’re in Westport, but gonna skip the vineyard this year since you’re not there…Last year was so much fun…you’re still my screensaver!

Dear god, why are sheepy behinds so ridiculously cute? They’ve got such cute pants!

I love the way you can clearly see personalities in all your creatures, great and small. :)

As an aside, when watching chickens run, my husband nearly always remarks that you can TOTALLY see how they’re descended from dinosaurs.

The lambs are HUGE!! Has the recent rain helped revive the grass enough for everyone’s noshin’?

And Catalina looks great! Hope she is fully recovered?

The Austin names make me want to find an Austin name for my baby. Only, I think it’s cooler for boys. How great would a little boy named Collins be? But with a last name like mine, which is also a first name, that’s just ridiculous. I love that Daisy’s lambs are built like tanks. That’s adorable. :) I MISS YOU!

I love “- in pictures.” It’s amazing to me that I have a real grasp of the geography of your farm. I miss you!

So sweet! Thanks for sharing.

Susan,
Are your chicks raised from your own brood or did you buy the chicks? I never tried to let my hens hatch a brood, and now that I have no roosters, I never even think about it. Was just wondering, might consider getting a rooster again and giving it a try.
:) Mike

Susan July 21, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Hey Mike,
I don’t have a rooster either but when one of my hens went broody, I borrowed some fertilized eggs from my friend Amy’s farm. Having the hen raise the chicks is 1,000,000 times easier than all the times I’ve purchase day-old chicks! I’ll never do it any other way again, if I can help it.
Let me know if one of your birds goes broody and I’ll see if Amy has any more eggs.
Thanks for reading!

I love Sabine’s expressions! To me, she has a Mona Lisa thing going on in this picture. I love your Maremas. Too bad there will never be sheep at my house that will need guarding.

I really think that the last picture of Collins looks like Mr. Collins!
