I am really enjoying Mother Jones editorial intern Tim Murphy’s Road Trip for America’s Future blog, particularly this post about Popcorn Sutton, the last of the Tennessee Moonshiners.
Did you know that the wild tiger population has dropped 96.8% in the last 20 years? Or that there are only 3200 tigers left in the wild? I find this very upsetting.
Amy at Angry Chicken made the coolest giant outdoor chalkboards for her kids! 4′x4′ plywood painted with chalkboard paint. So simple and brilliant. I’m thinking about making these for when we have kids visit the farm.

Well, one of my favorites isn’t nearly as esoteric as your picks, Susie, but a lot funnier. (Some of these are a little gross, so just be prepared)

Love the clock!
To kill a Mockingbird is one of my husbands favorite movies (Ive been looking for a remasterd dvd, shouldnt there be one??) We actually inadvertantly met Mary Badham (Scout) last year. She works as an art conservator outside Richmond! It was so cool.
I love the packing tape that looks like hinges. I went to the site and couldn’t find a place to click to buy it. Can anyone help me?
I just looked at that link for people of walmart…oh my!
My Father in Law used to work for one of the local school boards and decided to bring home numerous school chalkboards from a renovation. My hubby actually hung one on our house for our daughter, and she loves it!! It’s huge (4 x 8 at least) and on sunny days when she is done drawing she just sprays it down with the hose and starts again. If we lived closer together I’d bring you a couple!
That clock is the most amazing thing I have seen in a long time. Maybe it will be for sale after the Show. At quite a price, but soooo cool.
One of my favorite local jewelry artists. You can find him at the C’ville City Market and on line here http://www.jasonmcleod.com/jasonmcleodjewelryhome.html
