Button Crush!

by Susan on June 26, 2010

My friend Carol is just the most lovely person. She has been a shareholder from the very beginning and she never misses an opportunity to tell people about the farm and her sheep. I can think of a dozen beautiful little things that Carol has done for me over the years, thoughtful little things that reminded me that she was in my corner and had my back.

I was deeply touched when Carol drove all the way to the farm from Long Island in April for our Spring Shearing. And she came with presents!

Carol son Lars is glassblower (Glassmaker? Not sure of the proper terminology. He makes pretty things of melty glass.) and he makes the most beautiful buttons you’ve ever seen. I absolutely adore these green beauties! Until I find the perfect project for them, they will continue to live on my bathroom vanity where I can admire them every morning.

After much cajoling on the part of our ravelry group, Lars has opened an etsy shop to sell his beautiful buttons. I want them all!

Lars is by all accounts a lovely young man, and, as much as I would love to have all these buttons for mememe, it wouldn’t be right not to share his talent with you. All of these buttons are handmade by Lars and he can even do custom buttons that will perfectly match your handmade FOs. You can contact Lars via his etsy shop or through ravelry.

Enjoy!

I’m kicking myself for missing out on these gems on shearing (so much to see; so many aunties to meet!) but am really glad to know I can get the buttons via etsy!

I also missed the caramels–don’t know where I really was that day

Woohoo! Glad I ordered my buttons this morning before you start a run on them! I went to order one of those name stamp thingies that you featured a couple of weeks ago and they raised the price big time.

Oh yeah! These buttons are just stunning. I have some black ones with little rainbow flecks that are awesome. I think they all look like little candies.

Wow! Are those pretty! I have bookmarked his site for when I need buttons and will tell others about the site, too. Thanks for sharing.

Those orangey ones look like butterscotch; I just want to eat them.

Ok…I’ll admit, I was drawn to your blog because I bought the Willie pattern…but I love it! Immediately sucked in by those beautiful buttons…and the fact that you are a shepherd in my own beloved central VA. I miss it!

I couldn’t “friend” Lars fast enough when I saw he joined our Ravelry group. I bought two kinds of his buttons at the shearing, and they are really stunning. I must say that one of the buttons is a deep, deep blue–so totally stunning. Nice work, Lars!!
