Victory for Tiny Lamb!

by Susan on April 18, 2010

Guess who I just found standing on his own and drinking from his mama? Rushworth.

I think he is probably out of danger but he has a long road to catch up with the other lambs. I’m going to continue to feed him every four hours until he gets a bit stronger, but only during the day; he should be able to nurse from his mama at night. After consulting all my reference books, I’m positive he was premature. His dome shaped skull and extra long legs are the giveaway.

Sweet baby. Hope to be able to get pix of him in person!
Do you think there is something lurking in the fields that are pushing the ewes into early labor – ala Amelia?

Wonderful! He looks ever so proud of himself, if just a leetle teetery. Maybe you can get some rest, now.
