Welcome to the World, Statler and Waldorf! WARNING: Graphic Pics!

by Susan on March 20, 2010

Just as I was laying down for a late afternoon nap today I heard Mrs. Doubtfire- one of our pregnant nanny goats- making a noise that goats make when they are in labor. I flew out to the barn to see how far along she was and, once I knew that there was time, ran back in the house for my camera, video camera and house guests. Suzy, Jen, Roxanne and Win all followed me out to the barn. Here’s what happened in pictures.

We shot some video as well, but I won’t be able to get it up until Monday after the Homespun Yarn Party tomorrow. Statler was born first; Waldorf followed about four minutes later. Both boys are doing well although Waldorf has weak back legs that required splinting. He will be fine in a couple of days.

It was so great to get to share this experience with my  friends today. Seeing it through their eyes was lovely.

So glad I got your tweet and got to see them after they were born :) Warmed my heart for the rest of the day. Best of luck at the yarn party tomorrow.

How beautiful!! It must be so amazing to do this for a living.

And I was there (via Lamcam) to see it! Or, well, hear it, since Mrs. Doubtfire chose to give birth UNDER the lambcam, but that’s okay. Some moments need to be private, I suppose … or as private as they can be with such an audience with cameras!

Welcome Statler and Waldorf!

Wonderful that the lambcam was the best it’s been for days. I loved seeing you all there.

I was in the living room when I heard Mrs. Doubtfire start making those noises. Remembering them from Hannah, I sprinted (heh about 3 feet) to the computer and settled in. It was delightful having the ongoing narrative and I learned a lot. But even better (besides 2 new kids!!) was watching my friends be there and their response to it. Oh and watching one of the kids wander over to meet Hannah’s babies. Good job all of you!

Hooray for Doubtfire!!!! And for more babies!
Tell her not to worry….I think I looked just like that when I was in labor, too.
