Thanks for the article on soldiers who knit! That made my day, it's cracked the stereotype and I just love that photograph. About 6 years ago when I took up knitting my boyfriend at the time really questioned my knitting until I started making him hats and socks. Oh yeah, I converted him then. He's my husband now!

I'll try to write more like Megan (Not Martha). I've lived in Europe for 3 years now and don't really write much about it. Now I know what people like to read.

What a fabulous post - all over the map, with something for everyone. I was moved by the knitting soldier, and just loved the story. Who knew there was yarn to recreate WWII gloves? For me yarn has been my therapy, so it all makes sense to me as stress relief.

Excellent question, Sandra! I moved Daisy from the non-breeders pen yesterday. She is bred, but she is such an easy keeper that she manages to gain weight, even when she's only eating hay! So I kept her with the flock that only gets hay all winter to keep her off the grain. Now that she's getting close to lambing though I want her to have the extra nutrition of a little grain. But she needs to ramp up slowly on the grain or she'll get sick. She's in with the nannies so I can control her grain intake for a week or so before putting her out with the ewes.
