Kind of loving the NY Times Skimmer.

Absolutely in love with the Wall Street Journal’s Photo Journal.

Giant squid invade Orange County, CA.

“It is what Edgar Allan Poe might have called “a mystery all insoluble”: Every year for the past six decades, a shadowy visitor would leave roses and a half-empty bottle of cognac on Poe’s grave on the anniversary of the writer’s birth. This year, no one showed.”

Lots of great toys at The Wooden Wagon, but I especially love these hand-carved farm animals. And, OML, the arks!

Did I already blog about the Tea Sub? Can’t remember but it’s worth repeating anyway. (Via SwissMiss)

I flat-out stole this picture from Crush Party. Does anyone know who’s work it is? LOVE!

The NY Times interactive map of Holden Caulfield’s New York. I love this so.

A rare interview with Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson.

Difference between $100 men’s dress shoes and $500 men’s dress shoes? | Ask MetaFilter. (Via NotMartha.) I find this discussion absolutely fascinating.

Love this!

Prince Charles is leading a wool fashion come back!

Can’t tell you how much I love the Story of Saxxon Wool. The video is 10 minutes long but totally worth watching.

Okay, you’re up. What are you reading, watching, listening to and crushing on? Link us up, please.

I just read about these giant squid this morning. I wonder what they’re going to do about them. Too much of one thing is never good.

I am obsessed with the Australian TV series “McLeod’s Daughters.” It’s about a sheep/cattle farm run by an all women staff (imagine that). I watched many episodes yesterday while doing my filing – it’s on Netflix as streaming video. The first season second episode has lots about a big sheep shearing, in which the women have to learn how to do it. I’m crazy about it!

Love the photo of the large book on the sleeping girl. I had to stop reading large hardback books before going to sleep because when I drift off to sleep before closing them, the books have fallen on my face (reading glasses still on, of course) and just about broken my nose. That photo reminds me of books that have me “covered.”

Reading “Travels With Charley” – Steinbeck’s story of traveling the country with his standard poodle. Good read. Haven’t started it, but have “That Old Cape Magic” by Richard Russo which is suppose to be good. Another book in the pile is “84 Charing Cross Road” which is a small book by Helene Hanff – I saw the movie adaptation with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins last month on tv and it was terrific.

I stumbled on this book a couple weeks ago: http://www.amazon.com/Sweater-Chop-Shop-One-kind/dp/1603421556/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265148233&sr=1-1
It’s full of cool ideas for felting and re-purposing old wool sweater–for some reason I can’t stop looking at it.

I graduated from Harvard the year that JK spoke! Don’t mean to brag (tho I know dropping that name can’t seem like anything but bragging!). Just wanted to comment on the coincidence of your posting the video, and how much I loved her speech. Will go watch it again now.

PS–Is the skim in beta version? Wondering why I can only flip through 3 “pages”… I, too, like the clean look of it!

Awwww, I wish I could take credit for even posting that book photo, but you must have found it elsewhere. Don’t fret though, cuz I reblogged you so your link works! I even did some hunting and found the photographer and provided links to her on my post! Thanks for thinking you found it on Crush Party! That means you should be winning frequent flyers xoxoxovvvvv kisses, hugs and stitches Champagne

I stumbled upon this, and thought it was too good to keep to myself. Hope you, and your readers, agree. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shakerlove/shaker-love-every-salt-shaker-needs-a-home
