Mud Season

by Susan on February 24, 2010

Check out this mud puppy next to Sabine.

As the snow melts, we move from winter into mud season, that short but seemingly-endless time between Winter and Spring.  Yuck.

Everyone is Jonesing for green grass, green leaves, green anything.

The ewes are knee-deep in mud and fed-up. How many days till Spring?

Sorry for the infrequent posting of late: our internet access has been whacked out for about a week, making it especially difficult to upload photos. The situation seems to be improving, though, so expect more pics all week.

In share news, we are prepping the undyed Fall Shares for shipment now. The first batch will be going out tomorrow!

Huh. We’re still in Snow Season… Lucy looks like she’s having fun, though!

We’re enjoying the mud season here too in CT, a little too early though so I expect we’ll enjoy another very soon :-) I can’t tell you how I enjoy 3 boys tracking mud through the house!

Got a muddy puppy here too. So ready for Spring and Summer – woo hoo! :)

Sabine looks so dignified. And Lucy looks so, well, NOT dignified. What sweet pups you have!

hard to believe such beautiful yarn and roving survive the mud season!! Lucy is just being a good (healthy) puppy. Before you know it, she will be on duty!! (if she isn’t already.)

OMG…I can hardly wait to touch it! The yarn, not the mud :-) The only good thing about the muddy times is I can give up on keeping the kitchen and utility room floors mopped up clean and shiny. Doggie feet will find even the tiniest spot of mud, I’ve found.

So true! I’d really like to get another house dog, but Gulliver is messy enough on his own! BTW- I have it on good authority that your particular package is packed up and ready to ship.

Girl, I totally feel your pain. My sheep are sick of it, too. We’ve had 5 or 6 blissful no-rain days and are enjoying every minute of it. This is the first winter EVER I’ve wished it would go away before it finally did. Hate. Mud.

Love yarn, though! Congrats on shipping the shares! Woohoo!

The checker at the thrift store recently asked why I bought so many second hand towels. Hello: dogs + mud !

Ah, Lucy looks great, even if she’s a bit muddy. It’s nice to see her. I hate mud season too….we had a bit of an early one a couple of weeks back, but now we’re buried in snow again, so maybe we’ll be on track for our March mud season. Lots of mud now means great cherry blossoms come spring though….

wow, that was fast snow melting though!

those puppy dog eyes! oh so captivating!

i hope the sun shines, the snow melts and the mud dries quickly to yield to beautiful green pastures
