I’m spending the weekend off the farm in Washington D.C. but I had to share these pics with you.
This is Cini as a puppy.
Lucy again.
One of the great joys of my life has been watching these dogs grow from tiny puppies into loyal, reliable dogs whose life work is to protect their flock.
Before you know it, Lucy and Cini will be having puppies of their own.
Sometimes, I really can’t believe how lucky I am.

You are VERY lucky. You are living my dream — hard work and all. I really enjoy living it through your blog and pictures.
Luck? What luck? Seems to me you went through a lot of hard work and heart-ache and took all the steps needed to be right where you are. You not only deserve this fine life you’re living; you’ve EARNED it.
Just sayin’
they are so cute i love doggies
I was lucky enough to witness the birth of two of my five dogs and am still amazed at the wonder of birth and the growth that takes place after that. I have a Lucy too and your Lucy is just lovely. I am hoping to come up the spring and see for myself how much she has grown. Thanks for posting all the pics. I just love them
There is no better end to the day than puppy pictures. Thanks!
Luck is what you make of it… hard work and a good attitude. Your pups are so cute, and it’s really cool that they’re working dogs that love what they do.

These pictures confirm it–Lucy’s got wonky ears! I think they only add to her charm and adorableness. Lucky you is right!
I always say you make your own luck–and you have! Thank you for sharing it.
I watched my dog grow from 6 weeks old to a working guide dog for somebody in a wheelchair.
AAAAdorable. I was talking to this woman at work today who loves food porn and I told her about your blog and how you love it too, and she said “well, she’s probably heard of her, but if she hasn’t, tell her to go to thepioneerwoman.com” So apparently that’s right up your alley.
I MISS YOU GUYS!
I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that! Lucy’s ears are higher on her head than the other puppies were. It’ll be interesting to see if they move down as she grows.
I just love that picture of Sabine. She has such a gorgeous smile. You are truly blessed!
