I had one thing I needed to get done today and that was to photograph our new yarn colorways for the online shop. Truth is, I’m not a great product photographer and I need a sunny day to work with. Since those have been in short supply this week, I was thrilled when the sun finally came out and brightened up the world this afternoon.
I was just getting started when Jack, our Angora Buck, decided that he had other plans for my afternoon.
I have had Jack since he was just a couple of hours old. He was rejected by his mama on another farm and, knowing that I am a sucker for a bottle baby, they called me.
And from that very first day, I knew that Jack was unlike any other animal I’d ever known.
Jack is kind…gentle…and old soul. But he is always playful and funny.
And today, he just would not be ignored.
Isn’t he handsome?
Just look at that profile.
Jack is going to be all our goat babies’s Daddy this Spring and I hope they inherit his sweet temperament as well as his beautiful fleece.
I’ll get back to taking those photos of the new yarn tomorrow and get them up in the shop. Today, I spent the day hanging out with my best guy.

What a sweetheart! He’s adorable & you’re lucky to have found each other.
What a great post!!! I love it when you feature your animals, especially when it’s for something not planned.
He looks so sweet and innocent in his profile picture!
I hope his personality stays the same and that he passes it on to his off spring.
You two are lucky to have found each other……
From rejected baby to super stud. What a story! : )
That Jack is a handsome one! I love how you save so many babies.
Are you going to breed Dimples and Jasmine or are they too young still this year?
Aww, he’s adorable! (though I am incredibly jealous you got sun when the east end of I-64 is still suffering from misting rain *Sigh*)
Too young this year but next year they can be bred to Jack since he’s unrelated.
He has such a droll expression… he LOOKS full of personality!
There’s nothing quite like hanging out with your best guy!
*Love* him. Handsome, dear, and clearly has good taste in yarn!
He is so cute!!!!
I like the spots on his nose.
I loved him. He’s so friendly even with someone he’s never met before. Made me feel most welcome
Well, that yarn does look nomnomnomy!
He is just too adorable! BTW I just got my sock yarn in the mail from the 50% off sale. It’s beautiful! I can’t wait to start knitting with it.
He is quite handsome and looks like he really loves the camera, too. And how great is that that he gets to make all the babies! You go, Jack! Hope it’s not too much pressure…
Baby kids!!! Redundancy!!!
Lambs, too.
Can’t wait for the lambcam again.
Did you get a new ram? Or is Truman going to be ready for the job?
I just love his nose dots!
What a handsome guy. What I wouldn’t do to live like you do. You’re living my dream
I love it when you feature one of your sheep or goats. It really makes me feel like I’m there, and it’s fun to learn about the different personalities that you have.
