Plagued by Chickens

by Susan on November 14, 2009

My sweet Sabine just wanted to eat her breakfast- and guard Cini’s bowl until he returned- but the laying hens had other ideas.

I’m proud to say that my girl never lost her temper. She has more patience than I do….

That *is* one sweet, patient dog. I’m afraid that there would have been feathers flying had my dogs been in that position!

Wow! Looks like the chickens are not afraid of the dog.
She is a patient dog.
Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Wow, my boxer would have had a nice chicken dinner! What a calm girl. She deserves a treat.

Chickens are so pushy when it comes to food. When my aunt had chickens on her farm, I always had to make sure that the barn cats got fed before I let the chickens out. Otherwise, the chickens would beat the cats up and take their food.

Kudos to Sabine for her patience.

My alpacas chase the chickens away from their feed pans. It’s kind of silly to watch.

I am looking for the perfect LGD like Cini. If you know of one, please let me know!

No chicken should stand between a dog and her dinner!

Sabine: look out for those “dino-chickens” (if anyone else watches 60 Minutes, they’ll know what I am talking about)
