Oh. My. God.

flock

Okay, so when we decided to give away a flock of Angora goats and the good people at Sand Creek Post and Beam agreed to throw in a beautiful, custom-made run-in shed for the winner, I thought we would maybe get 10 essays. And then I scolded myself for being arrogant enough to think that ten whole people- who happen to want goats- read my blog.

By actual count I have received 61 essays. 61. Do you have any idea how many 61 is? Cause it’s a lot. A lot of essays. A lot of people hoping to win a flock of goats and an awesome run-in shed.

And, oh my God in heaven, the essays! I have been alternately tearing up and laughing out loud as I read them. Y’all are not going to make this easy on me, are you?

It’s going to take me a couple of days to get these vetted and posted so y’all can vote, but I promise it will be worth waiting for.

That’s great. Many people tweeted and posted about your generosity. You really touched a nerve. That’s 61 people putting their heads on their pillow each night and dreaming of a little Angora flock. You are a good fairy, or maybe the Good Witch Glinda.

Hmmm, I may be in the minority here, but I think the Fiber Farm should not be delegating the initial round in this process….

Well, that’s what you get for being so nice and having such adorable goats … who WOULDN”T want them?

Dina (dinaknitsinmd) September 17, 2009 at 8:49 pm

I’m with Deb – who wouldn’t want those adorable goats? I hope your applicants are aware of all the work involved! Oh, nevermind that: I know you’ll make sure of that!

Yes, but, my dear, they are YOUR goats that people are wanting. Goats that have had the best care, the best love and you raising them. We see them on your site and we know these goats. These aren’t just any old goats, you see. In a way, it’s just one more way people show you how much we love you and what you do. I wish I could have goats because you would have had 62 essays to date.

Deb September 18, 2009 at 1:06 pm

This is very exciting… keepin my fingers crossed!
