Blue Ribbons

by Susan on August 23, 2009

Sweet William and Dimples each took home a first place ribbon at the Fair. Dimples won for Angora Goat Kid and Wills for Angora Goat 1-2 2 years-old. dsc_0085

They also won the hearts of hundreds (thousands?) of children who’d never seen an Angora goat before. Seriously, I think Dimples is going to need her own Facebook Fan page.

I love the Fair and I’m feeling a little Day After Christmas-y tonight. The end of the Fair equals the end of summer. It also means that it’s time for me to take care of all the things I’ve been putting off till after the Fair was over. But all that can wait till tomorrow.

Tonight, I’m drinking gin & tonics and toasting to summer.

I am having a hard time deciding weather the goat or the blue ribbion is better, but at least you have both. Congrats.

Ah-h. That sounds lovely. I am sure you need a little rest!. Thanks for the vicarious visit to the MV Fair. It has been years since I’ve attended. Wish I could have seen your beauties in person. Did you also have a yarn/fiber booth?

Kate August 23, 2009 at 7:51 pm

Yeah, way to go. Good for Wills and Erin. And I’m smitten by Dimples, too. That looks like the greatest fair!

Did you have to wash the winners and beautify them for the judges?

Congrats to/for both goats!

joan August 24, 2009 at 3:51 pm

oh my gosh–yes i said gosh–beautiful!

MissMoosey August 24, 2009 at 4:14 pm

Mazel tov! Two very very deserving winners! And most importantly: they are beautiful both inside and out. I know that your little goaties are too young to enjoy a gin and tonic with you, but maybe the three of you can have a toast together with Shirley Temples!

Kathy Hayworth / 60 Sprite Gal August 24, 2009 at 5:19 pm

Gin and Tonics out here on the Left Coast, too! Way to go Dimples (I’m so proud to have had my name suggestion stick for her) and Sweet William! HRH Dimples has now bumped my daughter’s picture off my screen saver–shhh! don’t tell my daughter!

turtle August 24, 2009 at 5:36 pm

yay on the blue ribbone, but we knew they were winners all along!

Susan aka reddirt August 25, 2009 at 6:32 am
