Today was so long, it should count as two days. Maybe three.
Erin and I had to go to New York today to pick up Snow- another ewe accidentally impregnated by that Truman, the lamb lothario. So we got up at 4:30 a.m., fed the MV flock then headed to the ferry for a 6 o’clock boat.
Somehow we managed to drive to Hopewell Junction, stock up on feed, load up the truck with animals and 1.5 million things we needed on the Vineyard, and drive back to Woods Hole, Mass in time to catch the 8:30 p.m. boat back home. Then we headed to the farm and fed the flock again. My day was a palindrome.
In addition to Snow, we brought back three kids that are sick. Katie is still recovering from listeriosis. Dimples has coccidiosis and Ellington has goat polio. All three are doing well but we wanted to lighten Emily’s load a bit.
Everything went smoothly but we are wiped out. I’ll post pics and more stories tomorrow.

So when I’m whinging about having to get up early to drive to Woods Hole, grousing about parking in the Sun Lot, and grumbling about schlepping a duffel bag for a 4-day trip, you have my permission to hit me. Here’s hoping the remainder of the week is a little more restful.
Whew!
Now that you will have, is it three of Truman’s offspring? Was he planned to be (I don’t know the grown-up term for it) a daddy eventually? Are his offspring good for your flock? And is he peaking (hee) too early with all the hanky panky in the chub club?
Every time I get a romantic notion to install an adorable sheeplet or two on my back patio, I check in here and you’re nursing one – or two! or three! – ill creatures who have come down with some sh!t that sounds sooo much more disgusting in the latin.
Much to my husband’s appreciation, I will continue to live vicariously through you.

can you do anything for polio in a goat?
