by Susan on June 1, 2009

We’re giving away all kinds of stuff today because I totally forgot about the awesome mugs I got to giveaway at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. I truly love this mug and wish I could give one to everyone of you!

Thank you all so much for your comments. I loved looking at your projects and I would love to see them all knit up in this beautiful yarn!  Alas, I have to chose one winner. And the winner- chosen at random- is:

The comments on this thread were really amazing and two of them struck a chord in my heart.

I can’t find the second one among the over-a-thousand entries but here’s her comment on ravelry.

Both of these comments made me hyper-aware of how much we have and how incredibly lucky we are.  So I’m giving 10 skeins of yarn to each of them for their respective projects.

There’s just one catch Maria and ConnieCF- you have to take some pictures of the ultimate recipient of the yarn and tell us more about your projects. Send me an email at prizes AT fiberfarm DOT com.

Yes, yes ,yes. Congratulations to the winners and please share photos of what you make. For me, that is (almost) as inspiring as Arno’s new horns or Odette’s adorable face! Fabulous projects planned. I am in awe!

Susie,
Reading the comments left by Maria and Connie and then your generousity to the both of them brought me to tears this morning…
All of you are such great examples for the rest of us. It takes all of us to respond in ways like that to heal the deficits of this world we live in.
We who are able to be reading this blog…are among the most lucky in the world and it’s things like this that make me grateful for all I have and want to give more back to those who are in need – financially, spiritually, or who are just plain hungry.
Thank you for grounding me today!

Cool. Congratulations winners. And I’m so happy that you added more recipients — for charity. Love it!!! Thank you, Susan. You’re the best!!

Yes! The yarn is going to the most deserving! And what a great idea about teaching where the yarn comes from -not just ‘the store’ – I’m sure there will be discovered fiber people that never knew they were…. and the opportunities for them….

Liz June 1, 2009 at 10:55 am

OK — so wah, I didn’t win. but the real tears come from these entries and your generosity… that made my day. :D Happy happy!

Congratulations winners and Susan! Sometimes I think that I’m the winner, just from reading about the awesome behavior of some people.

Thank you!! I love the mug and I look forward to a couple weeks of kicking up my feet (though probably without boots – flip flops are more likely), drinking coffee, and reading on my patio. You’re wonderful!
