I had such a good time at Squam Lake and the whole time I was there I was wishing you all could be there too. So I brought back a little something for you.
This lovely yarn was dyed by this lovely woman, Heather, of Sereknity.
Heather is as sweet as strawberry pie and wicked talented. Her colorways were so gorgeous that it was difficult to chose just one. Luckily, I don’t have too. Heather will be our featured indie dyer soon, and she’ll be creating a colorway exclusively for our shareholders.
In the meantime, one of you lucky ducks is going to win the skein above for your very own stash. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling me why you should win. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. One entry per person, si vous plait. All entries must be in by Midnight, Thursday June 11, 2009. One winner will be chosen at random on Friday and the winner’s name will be posted right here. Winner will have 48 hours to contact us and claim your prize. Sounds fair?
Good luck, y’all!

I would love to win this beautiful yarn, as it would be the first hand-dyed skien that I would own.
I have never spent more than $5 per skein of yarn. I have always adored hand dyed yarn but never purchased any. Part of me feels than I cannot spend more than $5 on yarn because it isn’t worth it but I would love to be proven wrong and given that chance to discovery the luxury of hand dyed yarn!!
I am a young mother of 2 young kids, wife to my high school sweetheart, and soon to be cancer survivor!! I was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, despite being told I was too young, and this was “nothing” to worry about for 4 months… So, i am going to have surgery in a couple of weeks and will be on strict rest and recuperation… aka, time to knit! i don’t have as much time to do so when i’m not sick!! This would really make my bad situation a little better…
I love those calming colors and I’d never be able to afford such a luxurious treat. Sure hope I win!!!!!
Wow I absolutely adore the colors. As for why I should win, well…Because I rarely ever get to make something for myself. I always have to pass my hard work on to other people like my kids, their friends, hubby, The people in his office, other family members, and charities. I would love to be absolutely greedy with this yarn and make myself something to enjoy while displaying all of the talent that went into the project proudly. I think I would make a hat from it, or perhaps a small set of fingerless gloves, or mittens. Thank you.
ps I am serenityslr on Ravelry
Why should I win? Well…
1, The only thing I’ve ever won was a record from the radio station and my mom made me choose The Bangles instead of George Michael.
and …
2, *crying* In my few years of knitting I’ve only been able to afford acrylic. I’d love to know and fondle a nice yarn like the one you have pictured.
Good luck everyone!
Pick me cause I want it – or pick #13.
Whoohoo! I’m the 258th comment! That’s always the winning number right? Seriously, I think i should win this beautiful yarn because I’m a teacher, it’s the end of the year, my room is hot, the kids are cranky, and it would get me through the next couple of weeks!
Nathan Fillion
Adam Baldwin
Gina Torres
I have the movie Serenity, so why not the yarn? I can make up my own pattern and call it Sereknity’s Serenity.
I don’t want to win for me. I want to win for my friend Jennifer who is going through a divorce and is looking for a hobby to occupy her so I’m going to teach her to knit. This would be beautiful yarn to make her first project, a scarf, out of
Been feeling blue lately, and a beautiful skein of yarn would be a great pickmeup of the soul.
I think I should win this yarn because my husband is a tightass monkey who doesnt believe in the quality of good yarn.
Batman socks. This looks like Batman socks to me. So lovely!
I should win… because I said so! (How’s that for positive thinking?!)
I think I should get this lovely skein because the blue would match my eyes if I knit it into a gorgeous scarf for the winter.
Why should I win? Well everybody should win because you so generous and everybody is deserving. But I really love the colors and haven’t ever won any of your wonderful things. Thanks for providing such fun.
Thanks for having the contest! Looks like yo had fun on your trip!
Because I’ve never won anything before, ever, I swear.
I should win because… because… because it’s pretty? Because I like pretty things?
I’m afraid I don’t have a better reason — I’m really lucky, in my life and in my stash…
But I still think it’s pretty!
because i was so nice and gave hubby a professional( only cause i am a professional, lol) foot and calve massage after work today as his feet were soooooo sore! smile
I should win because the world won’t be in balance until all the pretty yarns are stuffed somewhere in my living room. Er, I mean, work box.
for my mom. she would love it.
Why should I win? Well, I could throw a little pity party here, but the answer is that there are people who deserve this yarn way more than I do. But I’d sure love to have it come home to me anyway. Isn’t that reason enough? Welcome home!
cuz I love me some yarn and it would make my day totally.
I should win because this is the first giveaway I’ve ever entered on your blog!
because right now in Teas it is freakin’ HOT! i need to make some winter hats to remind me in 4 or 5 months we might actually be below 70 degrees again!
Why? Because it is lovely and I choose lovely to knit.
Its lovely!
I should win because I’ll turn in into something beautiful
Hmmm. Why should I win? Because I would give this gorgeous yarn to my dear knitter friend who is unemployed and not currently buying new yarn, and it would make her very happy.
I would like to win this yarn because I need an excuse to take a break from learning how to play my baritone ukulele. When a yarn colorway doesn’t have a name, only a number, I like to give it a name, something with some emotion. If this yarn doesn’t already have a name, I would name it Alaskan Glacier, since I have been to Alaska. But maybe it should have more of a Vermont-y name? I love your stories and the idea of a yarn CSA. You go, girl(s) and all your support! I would make something lacy with it.
I think I should win because I haven’t won anything yet this year (as if I have any other years, but that’s beside the point…). It’s a beautiful skein and I could do wonderful knitty things with it!
I think the colour is just the same as my eyes colour … it would be a perfect match !
What a beautiful colorway!
Oh that yarn is sooo pretty. I’m new to yarn obsession, since I just learned to crochet in October. I love the blues and would make something worthy of the strawberry pie and wickedly talented dyer.
Well, I think I should win because I just spent 25 minutes driving to my weekly SnB meeting….only to be stood up! NO ONE ELSE SHOWED UP. So then I drove 25 minutes back home. 50 minutes in the car, and I didn’t get to stitch OR bitch OR get dinner. So I’m depressed and hungry, and yarn would be just the thing.
Hmm… why should I win?? Well, because I don’t have anything hand knit in those colors and I think they would look fabulous on me!
Great pic of Heather, BTW!
I would love to win this yarn but after reading all 285 comments I am ashamed to ask for myself, but since I work with people with TBI (traumatic brain injury) and especially those who have had strokes, can I put in an extra please for Esther in CA? If this yarn starts her knitting again SHE deserves it.
I could use the good old reason that I never win anything!
Why should I win this beautiful yarn?
1) I had a bad week on Ravelry because of a naughty swapper
2) I bought 4 skeins of MVFF sock yarn and gave 2 of them to my sister for her birthday (Okay that is why I bought them in the first place, but it did take a lot of willpower to actually part with them!)
3) I am in the process of buying a coffee shop. Being able to hold gorgeous yarn might help relieve the stress of starting a business in this economy!
Thank you for your kindness. I look forward to the special colors she creates for you and us.
Because it was my 20th birthday a few weeks ago and I didn’t get to see any of my friends?
Pfft, that’s sad! I can appreciate good yarn!
I would love to win this because I have entered a 12 step yarn buying program. Not an acquisition program just not buying any – except between the hours of midnight and 1 am, provided I set the alarm. And if I forget, I can buy one thing that counts as last night. Also, I’m sure I can’t win that adorable lamb or those cute puppies, so the yarn would be a soft, fluffy consolation prize.
I should win because my stash is very small, and that just isn’t right. thanks!
I think I should win because I only own two skiens of real yarn. I have a bunch of synthetics, but I would love to get my hands on some true yarn.
The yarn is beautiful and winning it would be the best thing that’s happened to me in the past month. Between oral surgery, problems with data in my PhD project, and my cats being sick, I could use a pick me up.
is it sock yarn? Cause I love the colors and after the success of my first pair of socks (baby in worsted) I’m ready to tackle the real thing.
The Yarns you choose are beautiful! you should keep some for yourself! you work so very hard there on the farm. Your always doing things for others, you are a generous person, If I win I would (like you) add it to the lap blanket I am making for an 82 yr.old lady that is in the Ladies Auxilary to the Veterns of Foreign Wars,Her name is Margie, she goes once a week to the VA clinic and helps hand out books and magazines and other materials to the vets and sends letters & cards and care boxes to the ones still fighting.
Thanks again for all you do.
Gorgeous! Thank you for this! I would love to have it because I am well, yarn poor! I’m on a serious yarn diet with not much of a stash to destash. I’m also kinda nice too
Me, ooooh, me!
Hello! New to your blog, but I have a feeling I’ll return soon!
I’d like to enter, and convince you to pick me, because I am a new knitter and have a tiny stash! Really, in the three months I’ve been knitting, I’ve barely kept up with the rate I knit up my good yarns.
This isn’t to say your choice would be wasted on someone who doesn’t appreciate hand-dyed really good yarns! I have a fantastic LYS whose regulars have been quite diligent about educating me and making me fall in love with the good stuff. They’d be so interested (and maybe jealous) if I won.
As far as projects, I think I’d tackle a lacy (but not laceweight) neckwarmer, and probably give it to one of my fabulous aunts, if I could bear to part with it.
Thanks for having a contest!
