It’s such a lovely color!!! A lovely warm snuggle (blanket) for those days coming inside after a long day of teaching little ones to ski.

Winter will come again, and a soft, comfortable hoodie made of this yarn would be my first thought on a chilly morning. Going for a walk on a fall day encased in a soft, warm hoodie would be perfect. I would choose a very simple pattern, like http://www.elann.com/productdisp.asp?NAME=Chic+Knits+Basic+Chic+Hoodie&Cat=&ProductType=4&Count=4#, because the richness of the yarn shouldn’t have to compete with a fussy design.

dreaming of winning…..

melissa May 31, 2009 at 8:37 am

I’d like to make a luscious shawl for our lovely cool-enough-to-need-one San Diego summer evenings.

Your blog is great.

rebecca May 31, 2009 at 9:09 am

i would love some of this!

kelli May 31, 2009 at 10:11 am

Oh, so pretty. It doesn’t get too cold in California, so I’d have to make something with some openwork and shorter sleeves. Maybe something like “Katrina Ballerina Lace Layering Cardigan” which I found on Ravelry.

I’ve just found your blog and I’m enjoying the sheep!

Karin Beard May 31, 2009 at 11:22 am

I can see a beautiful Aran type sweater – with cables and beautiful knots – for my DD as a christmas gift with that lovely yarn. The color is perfect for Seattle weather.

Elizabeth May 31, 2009 at 11:23 am

I think a cabled jacket – car coat length – would be the perfect thing for this yarn. Something to keep me warm for my walks on those chilly days and evenings that will inevitably come.

Kate F. May 31, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Maybe I’m plain, but oatmeal heather is just about my favorite shade of yarn. This stuff looks unparalleled.

Pawdua May 31, 2009 at 1:11 pm

I think a top down cardi for me would be nice.

Carolyn Ell May 31, 2009 at 3:47 pm

Oooh, that yarn IS gorgeous! I can’t imagine dying over it… I’ve been meaning to knit up a new office sweater, and I’m thinking of the very popular Central Park Hoodie (minus the hoodie).

The winner is very lucky, indeed…

Ann May 31, 2009 at 3:55 pm

I would start with a baby blanket for my sister-in-law, who is due in October! Then I’d probably knit a sweater for my own toddler son, but I might try my hand at dyeing, first…

Kelly Lucas May 31, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I can’t find the post I left so just in case it’s lost.
If I were to win this beautiful yarn. I would have to say it would make a nice pure and simple cardigan sweater. I would have to be very greedy and make it for myself.(I have never knit anything for me, but a bag) I would also leave it the natural color it is. no need to dye it.

Debbie May 31, 2009 at 4:45 pm

I would make my son an afghan with the yarn. He would like the oatmeal color.

Annika Peloski May 31, 2009 at 6:19 pm

mmmm…. I love natural colourways… I would do lots of things with it! Mostly ideas for things with cables.. I’ve have to touch it to see what it wants to be….

Kitty Vangunten May 31, 2009 at 6:34 pm

I’d like to make a Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton shawl from her Book 2.

Karen May 31, 2009 at 7:01 pm

I like the idea that the color is nuteral. There is a cabled vest I would make with the Oatmeal Heather yarn. The name of the vest is Short Sleeve Cable Vest by Mari Lynn Patrick.
As of now the largest project I have mad with cables is a hat.
The vest would be a great challenge for me.

I’d like to make this – I’m trying to do an ocean theme, and I love the seashell-like look. I would probably dye it like this: http://creativelydyed.com/store/large/29thw/SeaWool_Ocean/Seawool_S20.html
The little one obsession grows!

Sarah Ludwig May 31, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Love – love – LOVE!! I would make a pair of chunky cabled sweaters by Zoe Mellor for my soon to be 3 year old identical twins sons. This yarn would make great sitting-on-Santa’s-lap sweaters for the boys ;) See ravelry link for pic of pattern:

Mary May 31, 2009 at 7:48 pm

I would make a delicious oatmeal cabled cardigan with those cute leather buttons that look like hot cross buns. Doubly cozy! It’s beautiful.

Megan May 31, 2009 at 8:52 pm

I was queue stalking myself on Ravelry, and I found 4 or 5 cardigan patterns that would be really pretty with this yarn – all are cabled or otherwise textured. Two are hoodies, which I think would be so nice in this yarn! :-)

Laura Waddell May 31, 2009 at 9:20 pm

I gave a lot of thought to what I would make if I won this yarn, and I decided I would make my daughter very happy by giving the yarn to her!

Sarah May 31, 2009 at 9:34 pm

Nice yarn….. love oatmeal!

Sandra T May 31, 2009 at 10:02 pm

that looks perfect for a B.O.B. (Button on Blanket)! i’ve been wanting to make it for a while, but was waiting for the right yarn…http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bob-4

Anna May 31, 2009 at 10:29 pm

I would love to make a cowl, some mittens, hat and scarve…..

Sara May 31, 2009 at 10:54 pm

The yarn is simply gorgeous, and you’re quite kind for offering this wonderful contest!

If, on the off chance, that I do win… I believe I would make a sweater of it. I don’t have a pattern picked out, but the yarn just screams sweater!

Gracia Rodriguez December 8, 2010 at 8:45 pm

I am knitting a scarf with all my favorite yarns, and Juniper yarns are my favorite amongst those, i would really enjoy finishing my scarf with Juniper yarns. The colors are unbelievable exquisite, and the texture is perfect.
