Since I’ve been staying up nights waiting for baby goats I’ve developed a whole new respect for shift workers. The world just wasn’t set up for people to stay awake while everyone else is sleeping and trying to sleep while everyone else is awake is damn near impossible.
The first week I spent my time watching t.v. shows on Hulu and movies on Netflix, reading all my favorite blogs and window shopping on etsy. But staring at a computer screen for hours start to take it’s toll after a few days. So I started spending my nights dyeing yarn and creating new colorways. Apparently lack of sleep brings out my creativity because I am really please with the new colors for the Shearing Day Celebration. I’ll post pictures as soon as I reskein them.
In the meantime, check out our new line of sock yarns. I am really proud of these! They are super soft skeins and priced low so you can buy two or three colors.
I hope you like these as much as I do! I’ll put them in the shop this afternoon.

Oh how great is that…it can be used by all of us who are still stuck (by virtue of locations NOT near those nannies!) watching the computer for hours a day waiting on more babies to come!
Such pretty colors!
And, sleeplessness might lead to new ideas and such, but what do you do when you’re too tired to put them into action?
And, I hope that one of the shows you’ve been watching has been CHUCK. My absolute favorite show and in danger of not being renewed (sob).
I’m so excited about sock yarn! Can’t wait to see them posted in the shop, the colours look really delightful!
I DO like them!
Sock yarn!!!!!!! Yay! I didn’t even know that this was in the works. Happy dance! (and I love the colors!)
Yeah, sock yarn. always a favorite. You know they don’t count as stash!
Nice! I was just feeling a need for a yarn purchase and here you come with some sock yarn! Perfect timing.
It has been fun staying up night after night with you! Though it makes for much yawning during the day.
Nice new colors. Love the green especially.
Yum . . . these are beautiful, Susie. Ok . . . this is my inspiration to finish the socks I have in progress now (I have three socks sitting in front of me as we speak–all three from different yarns). I girl I met recently said that she has no matched pairs–she finds single socks that coordinate (and are hand-made, of course), and wears mis-matched pairs. Trouble is, one of mine is pink and brown stripe sock yarn, one is blue and green stripe sock yarn, and one is in the blue spruce MVFF sports yarn. I don’t think any of those said “coordinated.” I’ll have one of each of these in short order, though–they’re sooooo pretty.
Lovely colours.
Lovely colors… nice work for the weeee hours.. and I am a sock yarn fiend..I can’t hardly sleep nights watching and waiting.. glad I have tons of energy of late. Good work

Love the colors!
I just received the two skeins I bought (just couldn’t wait for my spring 09 CSA share!). They are gorgeous — so soft and the colorways are lovely and fresh. Thank you so much. Now I really can’t wait for my CSA stash to arrive!
