My knitting group played hookie today and we went to Benihana’s for lunch . . . so much fun. But I took the trouble to tell everyone (including George, the chef, who was an absolute hoot) about the International Year of Fibers. I think everybody in the restaurant knows about it by now, thanks to George. What a card!! I read about the International Year of Natural Fibers in the Spring Spin-off. I’ve been to the natural fibers website and have created a group with our knitting guild to knit a scarf segment for the worlds longest scarf. (keepthefleece.org). A local yarn shop is willing to put up posters and encourage the use of natural fibers. I’m now looking for any other activities that we can participate in for the Int’l Year of Natural Fibers. What a fabulous idea!!

I want to make elementary students aware of the importance of the natural fibers and the 09 celebrations.
