Stuff You Love

by Susan on February 18, 2009

Every so often, I do a post that is mostly links to little bits of awesomeness that I find on the internet when I should be writing. Cool things like these spooky snow globes and this article that popped up in a google alert.

But I thought it would be fun to see what you’ve found. So post your linkies here. They can be anything you thought was interested/kooky/wicked or cool. FYI- I moderate comments with more than one link to keep the riff raff (i.e. spammers) out, so don’t worry if your comment doesn’t appear instantly.

The flood gates are officially….OPEN!

My linky love for today is this fun shoe bag tutorial. I think these would also be great project bags for knitters.

Susan – that obituary is just spooky. Years ago here in NJ there was a big story about this woman murdered at a pharmaceutical plant…she had the exact same name as mine… even the middle initial was the same. A year or two later I went to my high school reunion and there were some people who were very surprised to see ME :)

Here’s my link for a site I find interesting.

I love, or should I say… I olive, these knitted olives!! I made a jar full of them for my sister in law
who taught me to knit. She also loves green olives, so it was perfect!

OK – here is a place to get your farm fix while waiting for the LambCam, (if you turn up the volume you can hear the chickens worrying and fussing)

As much as I love sheep, I really really love moose. This page is the best place to indulge my love for moose. And I especially like the moose kick line that greets me on the main page.

I’m nuts about herbal tea lately, specifically honeybush. I came to the conclusion that I can’t drink coffee after dinner like I used to and still get a good night’s sleep. I even made my own blend with chamomile at adagio http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/blend.html?blend=5912 although any of the honeybush they have is lovely. I’m just too lazy to blend at home every time I want tea.

Okay, so this may be the February doldrums sending me to odd corners of the internet, but I found the coolest glass art inspired by…crop circles! If you are looking for something weirdly mystical and ancient looking in a beautiful modern form, here it is. I am a sucker for glass in the window. Now the question is – who are the artists who make the crop circles to begin with? http://www.cropcirclecreations.co.uk/

Most amazing felt artist I’ve ever seen. The website is in German, but you don’t need to know any Deutsch in order to appreciate the beauty of these felted flowers!
