Even on days when next to nothing happens I hate not to post something on the blog. I know from my own personal blog reading experience that it’s sort of a let down to click on one of favorites only to find that same old post from yesterday, or even last week.
So, in the interest of fending off disappointment, I’m going to post about my day. This morning I woke up, goofed around on the internet for longer than I should have then got to work on the book. [Maybe that should be The Book. ] I let the dog in and out approximately 11,000 times, each time cursing him for interrupting my writing flow. At four, I got up from my computer and started dinner (cowboy beans and corn bread muffins). Then it was back to The Book and the all important letting the dog in and out.
Tonight I’m going write until I fall asleep or until the sound of my own voice in my head causes me to bleed out of my eyes, ears and nose, which ever comes first. (My money’s on the bleeding.)
Tomorrow I will repeat today in it’s entirety, with the addition of a five hour car ride back to New York.
Now, wasn’t that better than the same ol’ post from yesterday? No? Then how about this nice picture of Ernie as a lamb? That’s gotta be better, right?
Welcome chicks!

See? I’m lucky. Chappy has a doggy door…
Ernie needs a book written about him, so get through with that one and start writing about a very funny lamb named Ernie who could find his own grain no matter where you hid it. (I think that was a hint that Ernie would end up in the weight watchers’ pen.)
But Susan, YOU’RE ON THE VINEYARD… that in itself would be happening enough for me
So far all I’ve seen of the Vineyard is the ferry and the inside of Stop & Shop. It’s a nice Stop & Shop, but still…
Liar!! You went to Offshore Ale! I don’t think I wasn’t jealous.
The funny thing about how often you have to let the dog in and out, is that when you left him here with me last week, he NEVER wanted to go out. I literally had to grab him while he was sleeping and PUT him outside to try to keep him from making surprise-potty on the floor. (Didn’t work, BTW.)
Oops! Erin’s right. I totally went to Offshore Ale last night. Totally forgot!
We’re leading parallel lives Susan (except you’re a lot younger and with a much better memory of where you put things! I have been living out of my house in Saratoga and my Dad’s house in Rye, NY — back and forth since Mom died in December. It’s a killer. Last week I forgot the cell phone charger, my meds and brought only one bra…this week I brought the wrong book to curl up with!
Take heart The Book is almost done right – BTW I do recommend stopping before the bleeding starts. Oh and the dog going in and out – well, I was a smarty and taught my dogs to ring a bell when they need to go out – today I wanted to take the _____bell and fling it. I have 2 Border Collies (first mistake – 2) and they figured out that if I didn’t answer the bell right away they would ring it non stop until I gave in, mind you they just wanted the sun (can’t blame them) and then come back in, then out again, and in…you get the idea.
love the pic, someone looks happy and loved…k you look happy too!
Some days are like that (especially this time of year – for me anyways). Ernie looks so happy. What are “cowboy beans”?
He looks like he is in heaven. And speaking of Ernie, I love his January picture in the Calendar; whenever I looked up from my computer, there he was – peering into my cubicle.
Ernie! Old pal! That is such a sweet pic of him!
I know what you mean about the dog… except I’m not writing A Big Important Book!!! I’m just knitting… and every time I just get settled under the blanket, and just find my place in the pattern, here comes big ol’ cuddle-doggy, nosing around, giving me his “I have to go out NOW or I’ll pee on the floor!!!” look. {{sigh}} ok, out we go. He noses around for 10 minutes, pees a teaspoon and trots over and says “Ok, I’m done! Let’s go in — it’s cold out here!” Wish I could let him out by himself, but I have skunks and coyotes in my neighborhood, so I don’t dare. (Yes, in downtown Hyannis! Really!) He’d try to make friends with them. Idjit.
ooohh – happy happy lamb! Book will end and we will all buy it!!
That picture is adorable! Ernie looks so utterly happy. That picture puts a big smile on my face. Thanks for sharing.
That’s Ernie? It’s hard to believe he was ever that small. Very cute and very lovable. Have a safe trip home.
That photo is a treasure – the look of bliss on that lamby’s face! The human/lamb connection is very compelling!
