Unbearable

by Susan on December 9, 2008

Biscotti, my beautiful, sweet Maremma, was hit by a car this morning. She died instantly.

I don’t have language for this kind of pain.

Such a senseless loss. I am so sorry for your pain.

Alwen December 9, 2008 at 5:18 pm

I lost my beloved little dog Sky this way in the beautiful springtime. It was terrible how that beautiful day and the days afterward turned so black. She will have been gone for 9 years this spring and I still remember her with love and miss her.

((((hugs))))

Susan, how awful. Your wonderful dogs were the highlight of our visit to Felix Neck for my son – he spoke of them often after that. My thoughts are with you.

Susan – I am so sorry for your great loss. Know that you and your loved ones – both two and four legged – are held in my heart and prayers. Biscotti is over the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you. She is in good company with our beloved Heidi and Duffy and many others and forever young!

Susan – you welcomed us all to share in the joys of the farm and now we share the sorrow. You are right – there are no words. Just tears. Our thoughts are with you and all the farm.

There are no words I can say to ease your pain. When we lost our last pet, I received a card with The Rainbow Bridge poem. http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
I was not able to finish it for many months but now when I read it I can remember Michael with the pain in my heart but also with the joy he brought us. You and yours are in my prayers and I hope when you are able to read this poem it will bring you a small measure of comfort.

katygirl December 9, 2008 at 6:50 pm

Oh how heartbreaking. Nothing compares to the love and devotion of a dog, and unfortunately the same can be said of the pain of loss when one passes. I send you all my wishes for comfort for you and your family of humans and other animals.

Aw, crap. I am so sorry. We had the same experience a couple of years ago. (it’s 12/20/06 on my blog)

We now have Chuy (a Mexican nickname for Jesus), the Christmas dog.

Biscotti was truly loved.

I am so sorry. There are no good times to lose a friend, a pet, a fellow-shepherd, but this was surely a particularly tough time. I hope everysheep’s health issues have cleared up, and that you have the love and understanding of those nearby as well as us in cyberspace.

Vaedri December 10, 2008 at 9:36 am

I’m so sorry. What an awful loss for all of you. Be sure to hug all the critters you can today, and I’ll do the same.

Susan…Biscotti will always be watching over your flock. No matter what. She helped you realize your dream, and you provided her with an amazing chance to live out her’s. I am so sorry.

Rebecca Gordon December 10, 2008 at 11:04 am
